U.S Funding U.N
I believe that the U.S should continue to support the U.N, but I think that our involvement should be scaled back. Currently the U.S is paying $8 billion annually, that’s 3 billion more than 185 countries combined. It seems that this support could be cut and be used towards things that would benefit our country such as public education and healthcare. Our country is facing a debt crisis and we cannot afford to keep funding the United Nations as much as we do now. I recognize that the U.N does a lot of good in this world, promoting human rights and making health care more accessible throughout the world, and that is why the United States should not leave all together. That would cause global problems and the United Nations would likely dissolve. But, paying $8 billion every year seems wasteful. Surely the United Nations would survive if we allocated our funds to a larger purpose. Countries with higher GDPs and strong economies should contribute and help fund the U.N.

GMO Labeling
I am against the mandatory labeling of foods containing GMOs. My reason for this is that in the long run, this would hurt businesses. There is a negative connotation to the phrase ‘genetically modified’ and many people would see those labels as a warning and manufacturers would take a big hit to this misconception. Also, non-GMO products already label their foods as such and so labeling foods containing GMOs is redundant. For the people who want to buy non-GMOs, those labels already exist.

12,000 Illegal Immigrants
The issue of immigration is a tricky situation and one that the country can't seem to agree on. Some people have come to see illegal immigrants as violent and lazy, and its true that this is hardly the case. However, what does seem to be true is that coming over illegally creates hundreds of problems.
Personally, I think that illegal immigrants should return to their original countries. Letting them stay would only be unfair to those who come to America legally, hurt the American economy, and would only act as an incentive for more illegals coming across the border. Many people who come over illegally are supporting families in other parts of their world. This means that most of their funds and earnings do not stay within America. They are moved back to their original country and not staying within the U.S market. Also, many immigrants rely on welfare programs, meaning they eat up tax dollars. According to the heritage foundation, immigrants on governmental welfare programs could add up to trillions of dollars over the course of their lifetimes. If America was to let immigrants stay, then other illegal immigrants would see this as a reward. The effect would mean many more immigrants breaking the law because they believe they will be granted amnesty from Congress. But lastly, and most importantly, it would be unfair to the millions of immigrants that struggle to become U.S citizens the right way. So many people want to immigrate to America, and some of them do it legally, but usually there is a long wait. By granting illegal immigrants amnesty, they would be pardoning thousands of people for breaking the law and for those who went through the long and tedious process of becoming a citizen legally? Well the government would be punishing them by showing favoritism towards criminals.
It is sad and heartbreaking problem that we have to face, and both sides have strong arguments. Kicking them all out at once seems a little unreasonable and I wouldn't be opposed to granting immigrants amnesty temporarily (like a six month period). During this time, immigrants wouldn't be given citizenship but would be allowed to tie up loose ends here in America. They would not pay taxes, they would not vote, but they would not be citizens and when their time ran out they would be expected to leave. Also in response to the thousands of illegal immigrants, I think we should tighten up our borders to prevent even more immigrants from coming over illegally.
